British Hindus Unite for Harmony Conference 2025: Sets a New Benchmark for Community Empowerment

13th September 2025 – The Harmony Conference 2025, organised by Action for Harmony  - Theme ViΕ›va-Dharma Prakāśena - Universal Values for all , brought together more than 250 delegates from 120 organisations across 100 UK towns and cities, marking a historic moment for British Hindus. 

With Mandirs (Temples), community bodies, educators, councillors, mayors, and parliamentarians in attendance, the event underscored a powerful message: British Hindus are ready to stand united, visible, and vocal in shaping the nation’s future.

The day opened with a traditional Deep Prajvalan ceremony led by Brahmacharini Shripriya Ji, symbolising light and unity. Throughout the programme, key issues were addressed, including identity, safeguarding, religious practices, and representation in education and politics.

Key Achievements Highlighted

  • The Hindu Education Board UK reported progress in increasing Hindu representation in SACREs, developing GCSE Hinduism resources, and launching new teaching films and Mandir visit guides.

  • A session on “Awakening the Dharma of Democracy” showcased the Hindu Manifesto 2024, 10 nationwide hustings, and a Political Leadership Programme that has trained 300 members, with 40 elected as councillors.

  • Workshops focused on safeguarding, education engagement, countering anti-Hindu hate, and political mobilisation.

New Initiatives Launched

The conference announced major initiatives, including:

  • Hindu Remembrance Day (20 Sept 2025) – a national day of commemoration.

  • Teacher Appreciation Day – building stronger school–community ties.

  • Raksha Bandhan Outreach – engaging MPs, councillors, and emergency services.

  • Hindu Awareness Month – exhibitions, talks, and community outreach.

A Call to Collective Action

In their closing message, directors Nitin Palan MBE and Nilesh Solanki urged:

“Communicate, Cooperate, Collaborate – and take ownership of our challenges together. With unity and mutual support, British Hindus can ensure our voice is heard, respected, and celebrated.”
